We are sharing a holiday party together with the Penfield Chamber of Commerce. The party is FREE if you bring three items for the Penfield Food Shelf. Bring your spouse and/or a friend, too.

Join Us For The First Meeting Of The New Season – September 8, 2014

Don’t miss the first meeting of the new season. The meeting is September 8, 2014.

Eric Norden presents part two of his Interurban Trolleys of the Rochester Area presentation. Part one was excellent so we know you’ll enjoy part two.

The general meeting begins at 7:00 PM and the business meeting begins at 7:10 sharp and will be followed by the presentation. All presentations will be limited to 45 minutes maximum. There is always time for networking and selling postcards following the presentation.

February Meeting Has Been Cancelled

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the program originally scheduled for February 3rd has been rescheduled for April 7th. There will not be a meeting on February 3rd.

A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words And Can Shed Some Light On History, Too.

 

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.

In the case of a postcard, a picture can shed some light on the history of a community as it shows important landmarks, generally in their heyday.

Recently, the Paris-Henry County Heritage Center was given a gift of various bits of Henry County history captured in the form of about 150 postcards. These cards, picturing local landmarks from both past and present, date from the late 19th century into the mid-20th century.
