Postcards of Disappearing Main Streets – Meeting Monday Jan 8

Join us for a presentation about disappearing min streets. Postcards from the collection of Rick Schaeffer.

Start 2018 off right by attending our first club meeting of the year. Our own Rick Schaeffer will do a presentation about disappearing main streets. Rick collects postcards of main street scenes.

The meeting is from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM at the Legacy Senior Living on Willow Pond Way in Penfield. It is in the community room on the second floor. Turn left as you come off the elevator.

Why not invite a guest to attend. This will be a very interesting presentation and we will be using our brand new projection screen.


Holiday Dinner Is Tuesday, December 5






Join us for our annual holiday dinner. This year’s dinner is at Six50 on Tuesday, December 5 at 6:00 PM. Six50 is on Route 96 in Victor. It is located between Eastview Mall and the Village of Victor. Across the street from Pace Windows and immediately east of the Railside Market. The entrance to the parking lot is before you get to the building. On the right side when heading toward Victor from Eastview.

The club pays for all members. Non members are welcome to come and can join that night (or they can pay for their meal). See menu. View map.

Picture Postcard Rochester











Join us on Monday, November 6 as Dan Cody from the Rochester Historical Society presents,  a PowerPoint presentation titled Picture Postcard Rochester. Take a trip to Rochester at the turn of the 20th century, showing the sights and marvels of Rochester as seen through color postcards from the collection of the Rochester Historical Society.

A number of postcards from the collection will be on hand.

Club To Host Dinner For Members On Tuesday, October 24.

Join fellow club members for dinner on Tuesday, October 24 at the Elmwood Inn. The dinner begins at 6:00 PM and everyone can order off the regular menu. The club will pay for members. Any non-members who want to attend are welcome, but must pay for their own meal. You must RSVP if you want to attend. The deadline to RSVP is Sunday at 5:00 PM. Click here to RSVP.

This meeting will be one of our ever popular Member’s Night, where everyone brings a few of their favorite postcards to show and talk about. Monday, September 11, 2017 from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM at Legacy Senior Living at Willow Pond in Penfield.


Annual Club Picnic Is Saturday, May 13, 2017







The annual picnic is set for noon on Saturday, May 13 at 12 noon. It will be held at the home of Jeff Vincent and Deb Bower located at 139 Glen Road, Rochester, NY 14610. This is in the area known as the Corbett’s Glen Nature Park, which is located off Route 441.

Directions: Take 490 to the 441 exit and go East on 441 toward Penfield. Glen Road is on the left at the first light after the 490 exit.  Turn left on Glen road and then keep left at the Y. Follow the road over the wooden bridge and through the tunnel. After you go through the tunnel you will see Jeff’s house. It is yellow. If you have trouble finding it, call Jeff at 585-385-1777.

Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, condiments, paper plates, cups and utensils will be provided by the club. Members are asked to bring sides, salads or desserts. Please RSVP by email if you are coming.


The Musical Dossenbachs – April 3 at 7:00 PM

Rochester Park Band








The story of poor German immigrants who founded the Rochester Park Band. The Dossenbach Rochester Orchestra was the precursor to the RPO. Presentation by Lisa Kleman, great-grandaughter of Theodore Dossenbach.

Join us for our April meeting. Monday, April 3 from 7:00 – 8:30 PM at the Legacy at Willow Pond.


Letchworth Railroad Bridge – Topic of our March 6 meeting

Chris Costello is our speaker for March 6. He will talk about the history of the Erie Railroad Bridge at Letchworth. Chris is a land surveyor and a model train expert. He and his brother have a company that builds model trains and they are restoring a full size train car.

February 6th Meeting Will Be At The Fairport Historical Museum

Our February 6th meeting will take place at the Fairport Historical Museum, 18 Perrin Street, Fairport. We will have a special tour of the museum, including a postcard collection. Our tour guide will be Vicki Masters Profitt, director of the museum. Same time – 7:00 PM. For additional about the museum go to

PARKING – There is plenty of free parking directly across the street in the parking lot for the Fairport Village Landing.
