Meetings Will Now Be Held Monday Evenings At 7:00

The general membership voted to change the regular meeting times to Monday evenings at 7:00 P.M. We hope this time is more convenient for the majority of members. Meetings will be held at Legacy Senior Living in Penfield at 40 Willow Pond Way.

The club will not meet in October because we have the annual Postcard Show on October 16th at the Holiday Inn in Waterloo. The show runs from 9:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. Admission is FREE for all club members and id $3.00 each for all others. Join the club at the show and get in for free. Annual membership is just $10 per person and $15 for a family.

The next two regular meetings will be Monday, November 7, 2011 and Monday, December 5, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. at Legacy Senior Living in Penfield. New members are always welcome. We will have a special presentation on aviation and aviation postcards at the November 7th meeting.

About Postcard Collecting

The coining of a special term for a hobby is usually a good indicator of its popularity, and right up there with numismatics (coin collecting) and philately (stamp collecting) is deltiology – postcard collecting.

Like coins and stamps, the sheer volume of available material, old and new, promotes specialization in an almost unimaginable number of categories. Interested in a particular type of postcard? You can choose among See-Throughs, Linens, White-Borders, and more. Or maybe you just like pictures of kittens, diners, or motels? Chances are that you will read more

Important Meeting On September 18, 2011

We have an important meeting on Sunday, September 18th at 12 noon. The meeting will be held at the Legacy Senior Living facility in Penfield. It is on Willow Pond Way, which runs off Route 441 just west of the Penfield Wegmans at Routes 441 and 250.

This is an important meeting because we have to elect a new president. Bill Ruth has resigned as president after serving in that role for many years. We are also going to discuss changing the meeting day and time, possible to a weekday evening (Monday or Tuesday) from 7:00 – 8:30. The input form all club members is wanted so we can choose a time that is convenient to as many club members as possible.

If you can not make the meeting, your input is still important. Please send an email to Michael Bloch or call Michael at 585-388-6440.
